Previously on Junkheap, I posted a link to Audiophile Idiocy. I found this CD today when looking for Dobly Digital test stuff. Are they serious?! Do people buy these things?!

What the dealie, yo?
I've been neglecting Junkheap again, probably as a result of my pseudo-ADD which means I can't actually stay focused on one project for a decent amount of time (see also: Junkheap on Rails).
I'm off sick today, recovering from a throat infection of some description. Should be going back to work tomorrow. In the meantime I will try and fix my media playing box (old P3-866) which seems to work sometimes - feels like a short of some sort so I'm going to take it all apart and try and narrow down the problem, if possible. Worst case is I go back to a Celeron 466 I've got lying around, which should cope okay with the duties.
I found this page, Audiophile Idiocy via Digg. While some of the stuff, like the Intelligent Chip, has to be fake the other stuff, like the $500 wood volume knob, sounds plausible enough that it's disturbing.
Anyway, back to my breakfast!

So, I've been pretty lax posting here. I've been busy playing with Rails, and building The Rails Diary before I get stuck into Junkheap. I'm thinking if I really get going on it I may have the basic site up and running next week or so. The hard part is the content migration, not so much building the basic site.
In the meantime, I found some things to keep you all amused:
- Wikipedia has a really detailed article about goatse, disturbingly so.
- Zuid pointed me to this cool article about a CIA intelligence operation in the USSR
- I've posted more photos in my Flickr Photostream, from a recent bushwalk as well as my NZ trip (I may have already mentioned that one).
- My brother Filip also has a Flickr account, and has posted lots of photos from around Australia.
